“The food was superb as was the fresh ambiance.”
You heard it was coming, and now we can officially say the Deck is open!
The Barnetts and the Zolls were trailblazers to the Deck on a beautiful sunny July Mt. Vernon Wednesday. Everything is cleaned up and repainted. New cushions & pillows (donated by Jules & Tina), TV tables (a gift from David & Robin Zoll), bamboo trays (many thanks to Lois Schenck & Tod Meyer), and lots of fresh plantings - it really is lovely! They dined on Castelvetrano & Kalamata Olives / Carrots & Cucumbers w/Ranch / Honey Roasted Nuts / Roasted & Salted Almonds / Drinks. Popovers / Pear Gorgonzola Salad / Moroccan Chicken / Vegetable Couscous / Falafel Red Eyes / Stuffed Grape Leaves. Cheese & Fruit / Zucchini Walnut Bread. No. It’s not too much to list it - you read my menu 3-4 days a week - this is normal ;)
Although the temperature was nearly 90[ºF] it was quite comfortable.
There was a lot of shade from the trees and a nice breeze. And almost no city street noise.”
We can really only speculate as to when we can use the Club similarly to what has been done in the past. We know this option won’t be for everyone, but those of you who are ready to meet up with other Members, or your own guests/family/QuaranTeam*, this is as thoughtful and safe an environment as you can find. Compare calendars with a member or two that you would particularly enjoy seeing in person, or bring your own guests, and make your reservation for an intimate lunch @ the 14 West Hamilton Street Club Deck! I’ll make the popovers!
Lunch is “as usual”, from 12:30-2:00, Wednesdays and Thursdays only, until further notice. We can accommodate two (2) to four (4) individuals on the sun dappled Deck. This is a limited and controlled environment, as we take every precaution for your safety and ours. Always plan ahead with a reservation, as this will be pretty exclusive with limited seating - no surprises, please.
Before your planned lunch, you will receive a confirmation email informing you of what to expect, allowing you to relax and enjoy yourself even more :)
Write to 14Hamilton@gmail.com for reservations and with questions.
*Have you heard of QuaranTeams? These are Social Bubbles/Pods that can be formed between people who want to see each other close up, and regularly. Here is an informational PBS video on what Social Bubbles are, and here is the complete MIT Technology Review Guide on how to form your own.
